Privacy policy

What we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Last updated June 2, 2026. support@cardsearch.ai

The short version

  • You can use CardSearch without an account.
  • We never sell your collection or personal data.
  • Analytics and affiliate tags stay off until you say yes.
  • You can access, correct, or delete your data anytime.

What we collect

What you give us. The cards and notes you save, the cards you search or scan, your onboarding answers, and, if you make an account, your sign-in details and email.

What we collect automatically. Basic technical data needed to run and secure the site, like your session and device or browser type. If you allow analytics, we also see which features you use so we can make them better.

How we use it

To show you prices and listings, run search and scan, save and value your collection, keep you signed in, keep the service secure, and improve how it works. That is the whole list. We do not use your data to decide what a card is worth to anyone but you.

Photos you scan

When you scan a binder or a card, we use the photo to match and identify the cards in it, not to identify you. The image may be processed by trusted service providers that help us read it, and we do not sell it. We keep scan images only as long as needed to run and improve the feature.

Cookies and your consent

Strictly necessary. Cookies and storage that keep your session, security, and the core app working. These are always on.

Analytics (optional). Product analytics through PostHog, to understand which features actually help collectors. Nothing is tracked until you say yes.

Affiliate attribution (optional). Partner tags, such as the eBay Partner Network, so a purchase you make can be credited to us. These load only after you allow them.

Cookieless measurement. Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights run as aggregate, cookieless measurements to keep the site fast.

You can change your choices any time from the cookie banner, or by clearing this site's storage and reloading.

Where our prices come from

We pull prices, sold comps, and listings from third-party sources, including TCGplayer, eBay, and PSA. That data may be cached to keep the site fast, and it is shown for research, not as a guarantee of price or availability.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that help us run CardSearch (for example our hosting and analytics, sign-in, and the service that reads your scans), and only so they can do that job. We may also share data if the law requires it, or to protect the service and its users.

Your choices

You can use most of CardSearch without signing in. You can turn analytics and affiliate cookies on or off any time. You can ask us to show, correct, or delete the account data we hold about you, and we will, subject to the law. Just email us.

Children

CardSearch is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, email us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the date at the top of this page.
